Description

Indulge in the delicate sweetness of homemade Vanilla Macarons, featuring a crisp exterior and soft, chewy center filled with rich buttercream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar
  • 4 large egg whites
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • Vanilla extract (to taste)
  • Butter (for buttercream filling, unsalted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites until frothy, and gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold dry ingredients into the meringue, avoiding overmixing.
  5. Transfer batter to a piping bag and pipe small circles onto baking sheets.
  6. Tap baking sheet to release air bubbles.
  7. Let macarons sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes until a skin forms.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until risen and “feet” form.
  9. Allow to cool completely before filling with buttercream or ganache.

Notes

Use a kitchen scale for accurate measurements and ensure the egg whites are at room temperature for best results. Don’t skip the resting step for the perfect texture.
