Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (farfalle or penne)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan or cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil or parsley, chopped
  • 8 oz mushrooms, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, boil salted water. Add pasta and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, cooking until soft and translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spatula. Cook until browned, draining excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in the mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
  5. Reduce heat to low, then add cream. Stir in cheese until melted. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  6. Add the drained pasta to the skillet. Toss until well coated with the sauce.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with additional cheese and fresh herbs as desired.
