  • 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Chop vegetables and trim the meat.
  2. Sauté the aromatics: Heat olive oil in a skillet, add onions and garlic, sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. Layer in the slow cooker: Start with sautéed garlic and onions, followed by the meat, then add carrots, celery, and mushrooms.
  4. Enrich the stew: Pour in diced tomatoes, broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
  5. Slow cook: Set slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
