Description
A nostalgic dish of bowtie pasta enveloped in a creamy sauce with tender chicken, fresh mozzarella, and aromatic garlic.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
- 1 lb chicken breast, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella, shredded
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook bowtie pasta until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the diced chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream, scraping brown bits from the skillet, and let simmer for 5 minutes. Gradually add reserved pasta water until you reach desired sauce consistency.
- Stir in mozzarella and parmesan until melted and smooth.
- Add cooked bowtie pasta and toss until well coated.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, serve warm, and enjoy!
Notes
For added heat, include red pepper flakes while sautéing chicken. Feel free to add vegetables like broccoli or spinach in the last few minutes of cooking.
