Ingredients

  • 8 ounces penne or rotini pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups hot water
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and garlic over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms, cooking until softened.
  3. In a large casserole dish, mix frozen meatballs, uncooked pasta, sautéed mushrooms, and marinara sauce until well-coated.
  4. Pour in about 2 cups of hot water and stir gently.
  5. Top the mixture with shredded cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  8. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.
