Description
A delightful recipe for Juicy Italian Meatballs, perfect for family gatherings and bursting with flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
- Red pepper flakes (to taste)
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups marinara sauce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine both types of ground meat with breadcrumbs, grated cheese, chopped herbs, minced garlic, chopped onion, eggs, and preferred seasoning. Mix gently until combined.
- Wet your hands, scoop out the mixture, and roll it into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a parchment-lined tray.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sear the meatballs until golden brown on all sides.
- Add the marinara sauce to the skillet, covering the meatballs, and reduce the heat to simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve immediately over spaghetti or as an appetizer with toothpicks.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the meatball mixture to keep them tender. You can use leaner meats like turkey if preferred.
