- 1 package puff pastry
- 8 slices sliced ham (or prosciutto)
- 1 cup cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère)
- 1 egg (beaten with a splash of water for egg wash)
- Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8-inch thickness.
- Cut the pastry into strips, approximately 2 inches wide. Lay a slice of ham and sprinkle cheese on one end of each strip, add fresh herbs if desired.
- Roll up the pastry tightly and brush the edges with the egg wash to seal.
- Place the sticks on the baking sheet, leaving space between each. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and serve warm.
Notes
Serve with a side of mustard or zesty dipping sauce. They pair well with garden salads or tomato soup.
