  • 8 slices sliced ham (or prosciutto)
  • 1 cup cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère)
  • 1 egg (beaten with a splash of water for egg wash)
  • Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8-inch thickness.
  3. Cut the pastry into strips, approximately 2 inches wide. Lay a slice of ham and sprinkle cheese on one end of each strip, add fresh herbs if desired.
  4. Roll up the pastry tightly and brush the edges with the egg wash to seal.
  5. Place the sticks on the baking sheet, leaving space between each. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and serve warm.
