Description
A comforting and flavorful Ground Beef Pasta that brings family and friends together.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 12 oz Pasta (Spaghetti or Penne)
- 28 oz Tomato Sauce
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- Fresh Basil, to taste
- Oregano, to taste
- Thyme, to taste
- Parmesan Cheese, for topping
- Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining.
- Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add finely chopped onions and diced garlic, sautéing until fragrant and translucent.
- Brown the Beef: Increase the heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and your choice of herbs.
- Incorporate Tomato Sauce: Pour in the tomato sauce, stirring to combine. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water. Let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes to meld the flavors.
- Mix the Pasta: Add the drained pasta to the sauce, tossing gently to coat. If necessary, adjust the consistency with more pasta water.
- Serve It Up: Plate the dish and top with freshly grated Parmesan, a drizzle of olive oil, and a sprinkle of herbs for garnish.
Notes
Taste as you go; adjusting seasonings is crucial for perfect flavor balance. Don’t rush the sauce! Allowing it to simmer helps develop depth in taste.
