Description
Indulge in the rich, spiced flavor of Gingerbread Brownies, a holiday favorite that merges the warmth of gingerbread with the decadence of brownies.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and molasses until well combined.
- Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly before whisking in the eggs, one at a time.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and spices. Gently fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely in the pan before lifting out and cutting into squares.
Notes
Do not overmix the batter once you add the dry ingredients. Bake to a few moist crumbs for the perfect brownie texture.
