  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and molasses until well combined.
  3. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly before whisking in the eggs, one at a time.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and spices. Gently fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool completely in the pan before lifting out and cutting into squares.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter once you add the dry ingredients. Bake to a few moist crumbs for the perfect brownie texture.
