Description
A comforting side dish that combines earthy mushrooms and fresh spinach with savory garlic and creamy Parmesan.
Ingredients
Scale
- 16 oz mushrooms (cremini, button, or shiitake)
- 4 cups fresh spinach
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Clean and slice the mushrooms, rinse and chop the spinach, and mince the garlic.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil or butter. Once hot, add the mushrooms and cook until golden brown and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt.
- Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the spinach and stir until it wilts down, about 2 minutes.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the mixture and stir well to combine. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or basil and serve warm.
Notes
For deeper flavor, consider adding a splash of white wine after sautéing the mushrooms. Avoid rushing the cooking process for better results.
