Description
Deliciously fluffy Garlic Butter Focaccia, perfect for sharing and enjoying warm with family and friends.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp flaky sea salt
- Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme) for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour and sea salt.
- Gradually add the flour mix to the yeast mixture, stirring until a dough forms. Transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes or until smooth.
- Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the dough and transfer it to a greased baking sheet or a cast-iron skillet. Stretch it to fit the pan, creating dimples with your fingers.
- Melt butter in a small saucepan, then add minced garlic and herbs. Brush this mixture generously over your dough, ensuring it seeps into the dimples.
- Let the dough rise again for about 20 to 30 minutes.
- Sprinkle more sea salt on top, then bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow the focaccia to cool for a few minutes, cut it into pieces, and serve warm with additional garlic butter if desired.
