- 8 oz Bowtie Pasta (Farfalle)
- 1 lb Boneless Chicken Breast, diced
- 3 cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
- 8 oz Mushrooms, sliced (cremini or button)
- 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 8 oz Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- Fresh Basil or Parsley, for garnish
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
- Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Boil salted water in a large pot and cook the bowtie pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add diced chicken seasoned with salt and pepper, sautéing until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Using the same skillet, melt another tablespoon of butter. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until soft and browned, then add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream, stirring and scraping the bottom of the skillet. Lower the heat and simmer until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Mix in mozzarella cheese until melted.
- Return sautéed chicken and cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing gently to coat with sauce. Adjust seasonings as needed. Serve garnished with fresh herbs.
Notes
Reserve some pasta water before draining to adjust sauce consistency if needed. Cheese should be at room temperature to ensure even melting.
