Easy Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake

Description

A warm and comforting dish that combines all the delicious elements of sushi in an easy-to-make baked format.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sushi rice (or short-grain rice)
  • 1.25 cups water (or dashi for extra flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 4 ounces fresh salmon, flaked
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • Seaweed sheets (nori), optional

Instructions

  1. Rinse sushi rice under cold water until clear. Cook with water or dashi.
  2. Let rice sit for 10 minutes, then mix with vinegar, soy sauce, and sugar.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Soften cream cheese, then mix with sriracha and soy sauce.
  5. Fold in flaked salmon and half the green onions.
  6. Spread cooled sushi rice in a baking dish.
  7. Layer the salmon mixture over the rice.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until top is golden.
  9. Garnish with remaining green onions and optional nori.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Pair with extra sriracha or soy sauce for added flavor.
