Description

Delightful homemade brownies topped with playful candy eyes, perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup butter (or coconut oil as a substitute)
  • 4 large eggs (or flax eggs for a vegan option)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free alternative)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Candy eyes for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  3. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until smooth.
  4. Add cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  6. Gently fold in the flour. If using chocolate chips, fold them in now.
  7. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is shiny and slightly crackled.
  9. Cool, cut into squares, and top with candy eyes.

Notes

To ensure moist brownies, avoid overmixing and do not exceed the baking time.
