Ingredients

  • Brussels Sprouts: Fresh, vibrant, and firm
  • Maple Syrup: ¼ cup for delightful sweetness
  • Balsamic Vinegar: ¼ cup for tanginess
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons extra virgin
  • Garlic: 2 minced cloves
  • Nuts: ½ cup toasted walnuts or pecans
  • Herbs: Fresh parsley or thyme

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends and slice the Brussels sprouts in half. Rinse them under cold water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the Brussels sprouts, cut side down, season with salt and pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender and golden brown.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together ¼ cup of balsamic vinegar, ¼ cup of maple syrup, and 2 minced garlic cloves. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Once the Brussels sprouts are cooked, remove them from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Combine them in a large bowl with the vinaigrette, mixing well.
  5. Toss in ½ cup of toasted nuts and a handful of fresh herbs.
  6. Allow the salad to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
