Description
A delightful appetizer featuring toasted baguette, creamy brie, sautéed apples, and a drizzle of spicy hot honey.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Baguette or crusty bread
- 8 oz Brie cheese
- 2 Apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- 2 tbsp Spicy hot honey
- 2 tbsp Butter
- Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)
- A pinch of salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch rounds. Brush both sides lightly with melted butter and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake the baguette slices for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
- While the crostini cool, slice the apples thinly. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter, then add the apples, salt, and pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until soft.
- Layer a slice of brie on each toasted crostini, followed by the sautéed apples. Return to the oven for another 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
- Drizzle with spicy honey and sprinkle fresh herbs before serving.
- Allow to cool slightly and enjoy!
Notes
Feel free to substitute brie with camembert or goat cheese, and the spicy honey with balsamic reduction if desired.
