Ingredients

  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 large orange
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan (9×5 inch) or line it with parchment.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Add the orange zest and fresh orange juice to the batter, mixing gently.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Check your cake’s doneness around 50 minutes to prevent overbaking. Use room temperature ingredients for better emulsification.
