- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 large orange
- ½ cup fresh orange juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan (9×5 inch) or line it with parchment.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the orange zest and fresh orange juice to the batter, mixing gently.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Check your cake’s doneness around 50 minutes to prevent overbaking. Use room temperature ingredients for better emulsification.
