A delightful blend of crispy chicken coated in a tangy orange sauce, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Zest and juice of 2 fresh oranges
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch with eggs until smooth.
  3. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dip chicken pieces into the batter and fry in batches for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  5. In a saucepan, combine orange juice, zest, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, honey, and sesame oil. Simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Toss crispy chicken in the orange sauce and serve hot over rice, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce. For a vegan option, substitute honey with maple syrup.
