Description
A heartfelt twist on a classic turkey stroganoff, featuring a creamy sauce infused with garlic and fresh herbs, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb fresh turkey breast, sliced into thin strips
- 8 oz mushrooms (button or cremini), sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp fresh herbs (parsley or thyme), chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients by slicing turkey breast and finely chopping vegetables.
- In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Add sliced mushrooms, cooking until golden and moisture is released.
- Increase heat slightly, add turkey pieces, and cook until browned on all sides.
- Deglaze the pan with chicken broth, scraping up flavorful bits. Allow to reduce slightly before stirring in sour cream.
- Add fresh herbs and season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
Notes
For a different twist, substitute turkey with chicken or beef. For a dairy-free option, use coconut milk instead of sour cream.
