Description
A heartwarming blend of tender meatballs, creamy broth, and chewy egg noodles, perfect for cozy gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 8 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, ground pork, minced garlic, diced onion, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Form into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs in batches, browning on all sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and sauté until golden. Add more onions if needed, cooking until translucent.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Add heavy cream for creaminess.
- Gently return browned meatballs to the skillet and let simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes.
- Cook egg noodles according to package instructions in a separate pot. Drain and toss with olive oil.
- In serving bowls, place a generous amount of noodles, ladle the soup over, and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Ensure not to overcook the noodles; they should be al dente before adding them to the soup. For the best flavor, season at every step.
