Description
A comforting one-pot meal featuring spaghetti in a creamy sauce with ground beef, garlic, and mushrooms.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz dried spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 8 oz mushrooms (sliced)
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh parsley (chopped, to garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
- Increase the heat and add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a gentle boil. Once boiling, add the spaghetti, ensuring it’s submerged. Let it cook according to the package instructions, stirring occasionally.
- After the spaghetti has absorbed the broth and is al dente, reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix to combine, allowing the cheese to melt and create a lovely, creamy sauce that clings to every strand of pasta.
- Taste for seasoning and adjust as necessary. If the mixture appears too thick, add a splash of pasta water. Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese before serving.
Notes
Don’t overcook the pasta; it will continue to soften in the sauce. Add cheese gradually to prevent clumping.
