Description
A delightful and comforting creamy beef pasta dish rich in flavor and high in protein, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz long pasta (fettuccine, tagliatelle, or whole-wheat)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- 8 oz cremini or button mushrooms, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh thyme and parsley, for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water and cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- Sauté the Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Sauté diced onions until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
- Brown the Beef: Add ground beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes.
- Mushroom Magic: Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook until tender, around 5 minutes.
- Time for Creaminess: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring until well combined. Simmer until the sauce thickens, adjusting with reserved pasta water as needed.
- Combine: Toss in the cooked pasta, ensuring it is well coated in the sauce. Adjust seasoning as desired.
- Serve: Garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Use reserved pasta water to adjust sauce thickness as needed, and avoid overcooking the pasta for the best texture.
