Description
Delicious cranberry bliss bars featuring a buttery base topped with cream cheese frosting and tart cranberries, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- Zest of 1 orange
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs, one at a time, and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, folding until just combined.
- Gently fold in the dried cranberries.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the bars cool, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and orange zest until smooth and creamy.
- Once the bars are completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting generously across the top.
- Allow the frosting to set before slicing into squares. Enjoy!
Notes
Ensure your butter is truly soft for a creamy frosting. Allow the bars to cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
