Description
A comforting side dish of creamy buttered corn infused with garlic and fresh herbs, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 ears of fresh sweet corn or 4 cups of frozen corn
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)
- 1 cup cream or full-fat milk
- Fresh thyme or basil, to taste
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Parmesan cheese, optional
Instructions
- If using fresh corn, cut the kernels off the cob; if using frozen corn, simply thaw it slightly.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat until it froths.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to let it brown.
- Stir in the corn and cook for approximately 5 minutes until tender but still slightly crisp.
- Pour in the cream or milk and gently stir until combined, scraping the bottom of the pan to create a creamy texture.
- Add salt, pepper, and herbs, then sprinkle with Parmesan if desired. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until creamy and warmed through.
- Top with extra herbs or cheese before serving.
Notes
Use fresh corn for the best flavor. Adjust the consistency with cream or milk if it gets too thick.
