  • Author: Alessia Romano
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A comforting side dish of creamy buttered corn infused with garlic and fresh herbs, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ears of fresh sweet corn or 4 cups of frozen corn
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 1 cup cream or full-fat milk
  • Fresh thyme or basil, to taste
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, optional

Instructions

  1. If using fresh corn, cut the kernels off the cob; if using frozen corn, simply thaw it slightly.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat until it froths.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to let it brown.
  4. Stir in the corn and cook for approximately 5 minutes until tender but still slightly crisp.
  5. Pour in the cream or milk and gently stir until combined, scraping the bottom of the pan to create a creamy texture.
  6. Add salt, pepper, and herbs, then sprinkle with Parmesan if desired. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until creamy and warmed through.
  7. Top with extra herbs or cheese before serving.

Notes

Use fresh corn for the best flavor. Adjust the consistency with cream or milk if it gets too thick.
