Ingredients
- Chicken (thighs or breasts)
- Mushrooms (button or cremini)
- Sour cream or heavy cream
- Onions (yellow or sweet)
- Garlic
- Chicken broth
- Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and garlic, cooking until translucent. Add mushrooms and sauté until browned.
- Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and spices. Add to the skillet and brown on all sides.
- In a bowl, whisk together sour cream, chicken broth, and fresh herbs. Pour this sauce over the chicken and vegetables, stirring gently.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish. Optionally, top with breadcrumbs.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 15-20 minutes more until bubbly and golden.
- Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
