Description

A comforting dish that combines the classic flavors of cheeseburgers with pasta for a delightful and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni or rotini
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup tomato sauce or cream
  • 1/2 cup pickles, chopped
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or chives) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a large pot and add a pinch of salt. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, reserving 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté onions until translucent, then add garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart and seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until browned.
  4. Stir in Dijon mustard and tomato sauce or cream. Simmer, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired sauce consistency.
  5. Toss the drained pasta into the skillet, coating the noodles in the sauce, and mix in the cheddar cheese until melted.
  6. Fold in chopped pickles and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
  7. Plate and enjoy warm. Consider serving with a side salad or garlic bread.

Notes

For added flavor, try browning the beef with Worcestershire sauce. Let flavors meld before serving for maximum delight.
