Description
A heartfelt recipe for Italian meatballs, rich in flavor and tradition, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 3 minced garlic cloves
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Handful of chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, ricotta, onion, garlic, eggs, Parmesan, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper and mix thoroughly by hand.
- With damp hands, form the mixture into golf-ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake the meatballs for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F or 71°C).
- Transfer baked meatballs to a pot of simmering marinara sauce and let them soak up the flavor for at least 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve over pasta, in a sandwich, or as an appetizer with toothpicks.
Notes
Allow meatballs to rest for 5 minutes after removing from the oven to retain juices. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
