Description

A heartfelt recipe for Italian meatballs, rich in flavor and tradition, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Handful of chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, ricotta, onion, garlic, eggs, Parmesan, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper and mix thoroughly by hand.
  3. With damp hands, form the mixture into golf-ball-sized meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F or 71°C).
  5. Transfer baked meatballs to a pot of simmering marinara sauce and let them soak up the flavor for at least 10 minutes before serving.
  6. Serve over pasta, in a sandwich, or as an appetizer with toothpicks.

Notes

Allow meatballs to rest for 5 minutes after removing from the oven to retain juices. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
