Description
A comforting fusion dish that combines traditional spaghetti with savory Asian flavors of ground beef, soy sauce, and fresh vegetables.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti (regular or whole wheat)
- Ground Beef (or substitute with ground turkey or chicken)
- Soy Sauce (low-sodium recommended)
- Fresh Garlic
- Fresh Ginger
- Mushrooms (Shiitake or button)
- Bell Peppers (red, yellow, or green)
- Vegetable Oil (canola or sesame)
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Toss in sliced mushrooms and bell peppers, sautéing until tender. Remove vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat.
- Return sautéed vegetables to the skillet with the beef. Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil. Let it simmer for a few minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing it gently to coat with the sauce. Adjust seasoning, add freshly chopped herbs, and serve hot.
Notes
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving for added texture and adjust soy sauce to taste.
