Ingredients

- Sharp cheddar cheese
- Crispy bacon (or turkey bacon)
- Apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
- Unsalted butter
- Fresh herbs (optional, such as thyme or rosemary)
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Add a little butter in the same skillet, slice apples thinly, and sauté until slightly soft and golden (about 2-3 minutes). Set aside.
- Assemble the sandwich with layers of cheddar cheese, bacon, and sautéed apples between two slices of bread.
- Melt more butter in the skillet and grill the sandwich over medium heat until golden brown (about 3-4 minutes), then flip and repeat.
- Allow the sandwich to rest for a minute before slicing to let the cheese settle.
Notes
