Ingredients:
β’ 1 lb ground beef π₯©
β’ 1 cup breadcrumbs π
β’ 1 egg π₯
β’ 1 small onion, finely chopped π§
β’ 2 cloves garlic, minced π§
β’ 1 cup tomato sauce π
β’ 2 cups medium pasta shells π
β’ 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese π§
β’ 1 cup milk π₯
β’ 2 tbsp butter π§
β’ 2 tbsp all-purpose flour πΎ
β’ 1 tsp Italian seasoning πΏ
β’ Salt & pepper to taste π«
β’ Fresh parsley, chopped π± (for garnish)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Lightly grease a 9×13″ baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Β½ cup tomato sauce, salt, and pepper. Shape into small meatballs and bake for 20 min.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta shells in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook 1 min. Slowly add milk, whisking until smooth. Stir in 1 Β½ cups cheddar, Italian seasoning, salt & pepper.
- Combine pasta, cheese sauce, and meatballs in the baking dish. Pour remaining tomato sauce on top and sprinkle with the rest of the cheddar.
- Bake for 20 min until bubbly and golden. Garnish with parsley and serve warm!
